And when you search "meaning of jack of all trades master of none
" again on Google, you'll get this:
The meaning of the latter didn't really fit on the automatic search result from Google, but it basically says "Jack of all trades, master of none
is a figure of speech used in reference to a generalist: a person that is competent with many skills but is not outstanding in any particular one." (source: Wikipedia
I have to admit that I am one of the Jacks of all trades, but a master of none. I learned that phrase with my father. He always tells me that I'm like him. He's also a Jack. :)
I will not be bragging about the things that I can do, but I can definitely say that there are a lot! And still, I haven't even mastered any of those. It's actually frustrating. You know that feeling when you wanna learn something so bad but you can't even find time and any other resources to do it? That's what I've been feeling for the last couple of years in my whole entire life!
When I was younger, back in my elementary days, I was a really active performer. I danced a lot together with my friends. Our group always performed intermission numbers on our school activities. It was a lot of fun! Well, I figured out I should be doing some more so I joined our school band. Not that "rock" type of band, but more like a "marching or instrumental" type. I didn't play any instrument but I was part of the majorettes
(we used flags, instead). We danced using flags. T'was so fun! I was actually one of the best flag dancers back then. I wasn't contented so I joined our Glee club. We used to sang for church masses - it wasn't really the kind of singing I wanted but I still learned.
To sum it up, I was a singer, dancer and flag bearer when I was younger.
When I entered high school, I became involved in a lot of dancing activities and cheer leading as well. I was like the choreographer before, with a little help from my peers, of course. I was also able to use my singing skills before and performed once or twice. It was in high school when I learned how to play a guitar as well. My father inspired and taught me. Same stuff happened when I entered college. I danced and sang.
Well, those aren't just the stuff I'm interested in doing. I became obsessed with using Adobe Photoshop and other digital and creative stuff. I was able to apply those skills in our computer classes in college. I actually learned those all by myself. I have been a computer
person since then.
When I got my first job, I learned a lot of things with regards to internet marketing
. Wait, did I mention I'm also a writer and a frustrated reader? I was able to improve those skills (if they did improve, haha) in my first job. I said I'm a frustrated reader because I basically just buy books and NOT read them. I'm more like a book collector who doesn't even read! I'm fond with book covers and titles that's why I keep on buying books which I don't really, really read!
Anyways, I'll just put it all together here. I'm a jack of all trades, but master of none. I sing, dance, write, choreograph, play the guitar and draw. I'm quite a graphic designer, an internet marketer and a social media enthusiast. But I'm really NOT A MASTER of anything!
And, there are still a lot of things I wanna learn like those related in fashion. I wanna learn fashion illustration, designing and styling. I also want to learn more about Adobe Illustrator and set up a small online business. I wanna learn digital photo manipulations as well. With that being said, I also wanna learn more about e-commerce!
I wanna learn! I wanna learn! I'm so just obsessed with learning!
Wait... I just wanna share my dream job, although I'm already working in a really cool outsourcing company. I still wanna be just around cats, take care of them - full time. Well, I think I'm already living that dream since I have lots of cats at home. :3Are you also one of the jacks but master of none? Share the things you can do in the comments section below!
